It’s been quite some time since I read and fell in love with my very first romance novel. I’d been vacationing in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with my (now) husband and his family when I followed his mother into a used bookstore. My own mom had been a voracious reader, so when I came across a couple of her favorite books, I picked them up for her. The ride home was long, and I ended up reaching into the little paper bag to pull out the well-read copy of The Wolf and the Dove. By the time we pulled into the driveway, I was completely hooked!
After years of devouring one romance book after another, I decided to try my hand at writing one. Though I quickly realized writing a novel wasn’t quite as easy as I thought it would be, I eventually finished the first draft of what would become There’s Only Been You, which I published in 2007. I write contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and paranormal romance, and I love a small-town setting, as my wonderful readers know. I think my books can best be described as heartwarming, emotional, with plenty of humor and heat.
I’m also a Halloween and horror movie aficionado (or fanatic, depending on who you ask). I remember as a little girl curling up with a pillow and blanket behind the couch, my favorite place to watch scary movies. And I might be a little obsessed with decorating the outside of my house for Halloween, much to the dismay of my husband (to be fair, he’s the one who has to get up on the ladder). If you’re interested (and not afraid of clowns!), I have some pictures posted under Extras.
I’m as Midwest as cheese curds and a Friday fish fry having spent half my years (so far!) in the south suburbs of Chicago, and the other half in Northeast Wisconsin. I live in a beautiful, renovated old schoolhouse with my husband and our two girls…and two dogs, and two cats. Okay, so I have a hard time saying ‘no.’ I’m a sucker for a cute face and a cold nose!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you find something you like! Along with those Halloween pictures, I have some yummy recipes listed under Extras, and a couple of FREE reads, so please don’t forget to check out my Books page!
